The Elmwood Christian Preschool is part of a non-profit organization guided by the Elmwood Chapel Preschool Board. The Preschool is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and the Town of Wellesley Fire and Building Inspectors.
PHILOSOPHY
As a Christian Preschool, God is honored and introduced as the Creator of our world and Jesus as our Lord and Savior. There are monthly Christian themes taught through stories and songs and daily grace at snack or lunchtime, as well as modeling caring and kindness towards others. We hope these experiences will be naturally integrated into your child’s life. Elmwood Christian Preschool provides an environment conducive to the optimal spiritual, social, physical and intellectual development of each child. We have a curriculum that is child-centered and developmentally appropriate which incorporates daily opportunities for individual as well as group activities, quiet and active play choices, imaginative play, problem-solving skills, literature and both large and small muscle activities. We believe preschool children are active learners who learn through play. A variety of fun, hands-on learning, activities and experiences are planned according to a calendar of themes and units.
GOALS
The goal of the Elmwood Christian Preschool is to foster a stable environment where children work, play, share, and socialize. With one-on-one attention and positive reinforcement, children feel successful. Through understanding, respect, and exciting learning opportunities, the children build self-esteem and confidence. Warm, positive relationships with adults help children develop a sense of trust and a feeling of worth. We incorporate a spirit of cooperation, not competition. All social interactions are viewed as opportunities for learning to care about one another and ourselves.
With proper guidance, children learn to problem solve, become independent and respect ideas and feelings of others. We want children to leave Elmwood Christian Preschool with the confidence and skills necessary to succeed socially and academically.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Elmwood Christian Preschool, located at the Elmwood Chapel, is in a residential neighborhood. There are three bright, cheerful, well-equipped classrooms and a large playground with state-of-the-art equipment.
The school provides for children a safe and secure environment filled with love, kindness, and encouragement. As a school, we recognize the importance of each child being nurtured, understood, and encouraged.
Our desire is that the children at Elmwood Christian Preschool will have fun, build positive relationships, develop a special kind of excitement and enthusiasm about life and learning, and that each child will feel special and valued.
